Cookie policy
The cookies and similar technologies Repic uses, why we use them, and how to control the non-essential ones - the product works even if you decline them.
In plain terms
- Some cookies are strictly necessary - they keep you signed in and keep the Service secure.
- Analytics are OFF until you say yes. Google Analytics runs under Consent Mode v2 with analytics and advertising storage denied by default, so nothing is stored on your device and no identifier is sent until you agree.
- Advertising signals are never enabled, even if you say yes, because Repic runs no ads.
- You can decline and Repic still works, and you can change your mind any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer.
- You can also manage or clear cookies from your browser, and email privacy@repic.site to be excluded from product analytics.
What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device so it can recognise your browser. "Similar technologies" means related tools that do much the same job - for example local storage in your browser and the small identifiers used to count product events. In this policy we use "cookies" to cover all of them. They let us keep you signed in, remember your choices, keep the Service secure, and understand how the site and Studio are used.
Categories we use
We group the cookies we use into three categories:
- Strictly necessary: the cookies that make the Service function and stay secure - your sign-in session cookie and the CSRF token that protects your requests. These are always on because the Service cannot work without them, and they do not require consent.
- Functional and preferences: cookies that remember your choices and settings so the product behaves the way you left it. These are optional.
- Analytics and product events: cookies and identifiers that help us understand how the site and Studio are used - for example page views, CTA clicks, and scroll depth - so we can see what is working and improve it. These are optional and off until you allow them. This category includes Google Analytics 4 (property G-H1XQHK0RDF), which sets the _ga and _ga_<container> cookies - but only after you consent. See section 4.
- Advertising: none. Repic runs no advertising, so no advertising cookie or identifier is ever set, and the advertising consent signals stay denied even if you allow analytics. This is not a future intention; it is the state the tag ships in (see section 4).
Consent and your choices
Non-essential cookies - functional and analytics - are set only with your consent, and the mechanism that asks is live. On your first visit a consent notice appears at the bottom of the page with two equally prominent choices: Allow analytics or Decline. There is no pre-ticked box, no cookie wall, and no hidden preference maze.
Analytics are denied by default, not merely unrequested. The Google tag loads in Google Consent Mode v2 with analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization all set to denied before it makes a single measurement call. In that state Google receives cookieless pings that let us see aggregate traffic shape, and nothing is written to your device and no identifier that could single you out is transmitted. If you decline, it stays exactly that way. If you allow analytics, only analytics_storage is granted; the three advertising signals remain denied permanently, because Repic runs no ads.
Changing your mind: select Cookie settings in the site footer. That clears your stored choice, immediately re-denies analytics storage, and shows the notice again. Pressing Esc while the notice is open declines, because a dismissal should resolve in the private direction rather than the convenient one.
You can also control cookies through your browser, which lets you block or clear them. If you clear cookies you may be signed out and your preferences may reset. Declining non-essential cookies does not break the product: Repic still works with only the strictly necessary cookies. You can additionally email privacy@repic.site to have your account excluded from product analytics entirely.
Third-party and analytics cookies
The public marketing site uses Google Analytics 4, property G-H1XQHK0RDF, operated by Google Ireland Limited for visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, and by Google LLC elsewhere. When and only when you allow analytics, it sets the _ga and _ga_<container> cookies to distinguish returning browsers. Data retention is 14 months. Google is listed on our sub-processors page and what is collected is described in our privacy policy.
Our own product analytics rely on service providers that may set or read cookies on our behalf to measure product usage. They act as our processors and are covered by the same two pages. We do not use cookies to sell your personal data, and we do not run advertising cookies of any kind. Services you open from Repic but that we do not run (for example Canva) set their own cookies under their own policies.
You can also opt out of Google Analytics across every site that uses it by installing Google's Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, which is independent of the choice you make here.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update this page and, where appropriate, ask for your consent again. Questions about cookies go to privacy@repic.site.
