Brand kit ideas for hair salons

A salon's brand walks around the town on other people's heads. The work is distributed by clients who never mention where they got it, which makes the visual identity the only attribution you get.

A real generated kit

What the generator produced for a hair salons brief.

This is captured output, not a mock. It came back from the same engine behind the free kit generator, run against the brief below. The engine is deterministic, so you can reproduce it. Rowan Row is an illustrative name, not a customer.

What is different here

Your best marketing is unattributed

This is close to unique. A good cut is seen by hundreds of people, almost none of whom will ask about it, and the client will often not name you unprompted. So the brand has to do the attributing: a recognisable photographic style, a consistent way of showing the work, a colour that means you. Salons that rotate visual styles per post lose the only compounding asset they have, because two hundred people saw the hair and nothing connected it back.

The mistake most brands here make

Most salon feeds are a portfolio with no house style, so every post is attributable to the client rather than the salon. The work is excellent and the brand is invisible.

What to actually post about

  • One cut explained: what the hair was doing and what you did about it
  • The consultation question you ask that nobody else does
  • What you talk people out of
Not for

Who this kit is the wrong answer for.

A salon competing on price and availability. This kit assumes the specific work is the reason people travel to you.
